Connection to Western Hills:
Stefanie Godbey was born and raised on the Westside of Cincinnati. She graduated from Our Lady of the Visitation in 1988 and Mother of Mercy High School in 1992. Stefanie knew she wanted to pursue a career doing something that helped people from a very young age. Stefanie’s sister has multiple disabilities and Stefanie spent many hours as a child at Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati. After high school graduation, a friend suggested Audiology might be a great profession for Stefanie. Audiology had the right mix of patient-centered care and focus on technology that appealed to her.
Education and early career:
Stefanie graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1996 with her Bachelors of Science with Honors in Communication Disorders. She obtained her Master of Arts in 1998 from the University of Cincinnati. Stefanie completed her Doctor of Audiology degree from A.T. Still University in March 2017.
Stefanie began her career working for a large Otolaryngology practice in Northern Kentucky. After 8 years, she joined The Place for Better Hearing as a part-time Audiologist. Stefanie holds current Audiology licensure in the states of Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. She is dedicated to her patients and feels that good hearing is the key to excellent communication. Stefanie is certified by The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is a Fellow of The American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Stefanie has been named an AAA Scholar for her outstanding commitment to continuing education.
